Bower Hall aims to create a balanced student community and, where possible, allocate residents with students in the same academic year. Accommodation is mixed gender with balance considered during allocation.
All utilities, broadband, study spaces, common areas, housekeeping for rooms and shared areas, bed linen and towels, onsite management, CCTV and 24-hour security are included. Laundry, printing and photocopying may carry additional charges.
The accommodation team reviews the application and deposit record. The student is then asked to complete the remaining booking details, including home address, date of birth, emergency contact, student ID upload, notes and terms agreement.
Applications can be submitted before final college confirmation. Offers and room allocations remain subject to the Bower Hall allocation process, availability and applicant eligibility.
Cancellation requests should be made in writing by email to the accommodation team as soon as possible, quoting the applicant name, contact details and application reference if available.
Where a licence agreement has been signed, Bower Hall may apply a written cooling-off period before check-in. The final length and conditions should be confirmed in the licence agreement.
First-year applicants should notify Bower Hall in writing promptly after receiving CAO or college results and provide supporting documentation. The accommodation team may review cancellation or waitlist options based on the final policy.
International applicants should contact the accommodation team promptly and provide the visa refusal documentation. Cancellation options will be reviewed in line with the final licence terms.
After the relevant cancellation window, the resident may remain liable for accommodation fees until a suitable replacement student is approved and takes over the room, subject to the final licence agreement.
Submitting an application and deposit request does not guarantee a room until Bower Hall confirms availability, allocation and the relevant licence documentation.
Accommodation fees are shown per person and charged across three academic terms. All utilities are included in the advertised accommodation fee for September-May, with an upfront payment discount available where the full year is paid in advance.
Residents are expected to respect the building, other residents, staff and neighbours. Bower Hall may refuse or end accommodation where serious misconduct, damage, non-payment or breach of house rules occurs.

Bower Hall is located on Retreat Road, within walking distance of Athlone town centre and local amenities. A bus stop outside the entrance connects directly to TUS with regular collection times, while the campus is approximately a 15-minute walk or 7-minute bicycle ride from TUS Athlone.
Bower Hall Student Campus is a Hanly Group project transforming the former Our Lady's Bower Convent Boarding School into managed student accommodation for Athlone. The project brings together the group's hospitality, construction and restoration experience with a clear aim: to create a safe, practical and well-supported student campus.
